If you speak some simple English but need to work on your fluency, Certificate II in EAL (Access) 22639VIC is for you. English language skills are very important for success in study and employment in Australia. This course will take your language skills beyond simple, everyday English and teach you complicated sentences and vocabulary. You will learn to communicate in a range of situations, including problem solving and work with simple personal documents, like letters.
You will get personal attention at Melbourne Polytechnic. Our helpful and friendly teachers will talk to you about your skills and goals. They will make a personal learning plan for you to improve your English. As a Melbourne Polytechnic student, you can use our libraries, computer labs, and other student services. Depending on your eligibility, you may receive funding from the Victorian Government or the Australian Government through Skills for Education and Employment (SEE), and Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP).
Completing this course will give you the English skills to help your life in Australia. You will find it easier to take part in the community. When you finish this course, you can move into the Certificate III in EAL 22640VIC to study English at a higher level.
This is the beginning of further study and a smoother life in Australia.
Following course completion, students may progress to the next level of EAL study. At the conclusion of Certificate III, student may apply for entry into a vocational course of study.

Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is a service to help eligible migrants and humanitarian entrants with low English levels to improve their English language skills and settle into Australia. AMEP is funded by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs.
Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program provides training to help participants build their reading, writing, maths and basic computer skills.
