Build the world from the ground up

When you specialise in Bricklaying, you step into an essential part of the construction industry.

Bricklayers work with clay bricks, concrete blocks, and mortar, but there's much more to it than just laying bricks. If you enjoy practical outdoor work, can work at heights, and are physically fit, bricklaying might be a good fit for you.

In Melbourne Polytechnic’s intensive hands-on courses, you'll learn everything from how to read and work from specifications to masonry and blockwork.

We offer both pre-apprentice courses onsite at Melbourne Polytechnic and apprenticeship courses that combine onsite learning with off-site work. The training centre at Melbourne Polytechnic has Victoria’s most technologically advanced facilities for building and construction.

Graduate career pathways include employment by bricklaying subcontractors and building and construction companies or you can call the shots and start your own small business.
